Tina Bryant is a compassionate and innovative advocate and social worker. As Assistant Director, she supervises and mentors the clinical team, facilitates community events and leads the clinical internship program. She is dedicated to providing individualized, high quality care to best meet the needs of Dorm clients. Her hard work in expanding insurance coverage at The Dorm, Washington, D.C. has been integral to success. Tina helped set universal standards and worked with insurance companies directly to expand accessibility of care to young adults in the DC Metro area.
In her work with clients, Tina helps young adults examine personal goals and interests while exploring their adult identity. She draws from extensive experience in motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), crisis intervention, solution-focused therapy and trauma-informed care. When she noticed a need, she started the Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO DBT) group and supported the development of multiple social groups. Since joining the Dorm, Tina has also learned and applied new modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). She is deeply passionate about suicide research and neurodivergent care. Her expertise lies in personality disorders, autism spectrum diagnoses, bipolar, psychosis and family systems work.
Tina holds a Master’s of Social Work in Clinical Behavioral Health from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and a Master’s of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Before working in mental health, Tina worked with DC’s low-income, LGBTQ, and Veteran populations in homelessness prevention and harm reduction. She became passionate about social work while working with adults with severe mental illness to reach recovery and wellbeing.
Personally, Tina is a proud returned Peace Corps Senegal Volunteer and is a traveler, reader, concert-goer, hiker and loving mother of two kitties, Felix and Tallulah. She enjoys spending time with friends, exploring new areas of the DMV and east coast.
