Julia Hughes

Julia Hughes is passionate about building systems and processes that create healing spaces, allowing staff to support clients and their families in the pursuit of positive, lasting change. At The Dorm she supports team members by deconstructing complex clinical processes into simple steps, supporting them along the way. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. 

Julia has served in a large variety of compliance roles in the mental health and substance use industry, and has extensive experience preparing and leading CARF surveys as well as processes surrounding state licensure. Her experiences in the healthcare industry combined with her inherent desire to learn motivated her to pursue an MBA with a focus on Healthcare Management from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

In her free time, she enjoys reading books and being active—cycling and snowboarding are among her favorite activities. Julia recently discovered her love for succulents and has since never glimpsed a cactus she didn’t need.
