Grace Polistina, LGSW

Grace Polistina is a licensed social worker passionate about meeting the needs of each of her clients through a therapeutic framework founded on caring for the whole person. She is passionate about meeting her clients needs with empathy, compassion, and support as they navigate life’s transitions.  

Grace earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from The College of the Holy Cross, a Master’s in Psychological Sciences from The Catholic University of America, and a Master’s in Social Work from The Catholic University of America. Grace has significant research experience in program evaluation, substance use disorders, and clinical care of young adults with suicidality. She has previously been trained in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and volunteered as a Lifeline Crisis Counselor on the 988 National Suicide Hotline. She applies her research and volunteer experience to foster positive development among each of her clients.  

She has previously worked in the Office of Disability Support Services at Catholic University where she advocated for the holistic success of each individual student. She has also worked in the Washington, D.C. Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center providing diagnostic assessment, group therapy, and individual counseling to veterans with trauma and trauma-related diagnoses. Using a person-first, trauma-informed approach, Grace is committed to working alongside clients, helping them recognize their strengths and guiding them towards self-fulfillment.  

Outside of work, Grace enjoys spending time with friends, swimming, planning day trips in and around Washington, D.C., and convincing family and friends to go with her on her next cruise!
