Cristina Escobar

Cristina Escobar is passionate about working with young adults as they navigate through life’s transitions and adversities. She leads clients with empathy, and strives to empower young adults through collaboration and trust. She is a graduate of Columbia School of Social Work, where she received her Master’s of Science in Social Work. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Trinity College. 

Cristina utilizes a strengths-based perspective and incorporates multiple modalities in therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to best support her client’s unique needs. Additionally, she is dedicated to meeting clients where they are at: she believes forming a strong therapeutic alliance and taking a holistic, individualized approach is crucial in facilitating the best environment for growth. 

Cristina’s passion for mental healthcare began with an internship at the Crisis Text Line, where she provided confidential crisis intervention at the Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center, where she also provided psychotherapy to individuals struggling with a wide variety of mental health concerns. 

In her free time, Cristina enjoys live music, New York sports, reading and spending time with friends and family.
