Andrys Tavarez, MSW

Andrys Tavarez is a strategic people leader with a background in human resources and social work, bringing a clinically informed, human-centered lens to talent, culture, and employee experience. A Senior HR Generalist, Andrys supports the full employee lifecycle across recruitment, onboarding, development, and offboarding during an employee’s time at The Dorm. She believes that when employees feel supported, connected, and valued, organizations are better positioned to do meaningful, sustainable work. Andrys has played a key role in shaping organizational culture at The Dorm by strengthening onboarding practices, creating more intentional and welcoming spaces for new team members, and developing DEIB-informed initiatives to foster an inclusive work environment.

Andrys honed her people leadership skills across healthcare, nonprofit, and startup settings before joining The Dorm. She earned a Master of Social Work (MSW), which shapes her people operations approach through the integration of organizational psychology, human behavior, and ethical care. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Africana, Puerto Rican & Latino Studies from Hunter College.

Outside of work, Andrys channels her creativity and passion for art as a way to express herself and cope with her mental health. She loves painting, pottery, and spending time with her beloved dog. Her commitment to promoting mental wellness extends to her work as an HR professional, where she strives to create a supportive and inclusive workplace culture that prioritizes the well-being of all employees.
