In light of social distancing as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, there is a growing concern of a nationwide mental health crisis among young adults.
“Being told what to do, where to go and who you can see can be triggering, especially for individuals who have experienced a past trauma. It’s important that social distancing does not mean social isolation. Young people, especially those with preexisting mental health challenges, need to reach out and connect with their loved ones and personal support network, and receive the mental health support that they need during this time.”
