What LGBTQ-Affirming Treatment Looks Like for Ages 18-30:
Meeting The Needs That Matter Most
To thrive in life, we help LGBTQ+ young adults:
- Gain deeper self-awareness that supports living an authentic life aligned with their values.
- Learn to better understand and manage their thoughts, needs, and feelings and develop the coping skills to navigate challenges.
- Experience a nonjudgmental space to explore, develop and express their unique identity in real-time (name, pronouns, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Feel validated, supported, and empowered to put their needs first.
Curated LGBTQ+ Therapeutic Programming & Groups
Our programming offers safe, inclusive environments for clients to actively explore and develop their unique identity in real-time.
Identity and Sexuality Group
A combination of process and psycho-education, this group explores topics of gender and identity on a weekly basis, including how clients can navigate stressors at school, friendships, and family relationships. Facilitated by clinicians, members lean into conversations, never shying away from sensitive topics like bringing one’s authentic self to dating, pleasure for all genders, and even the process of grieving an old part of one’s identity. These conversations shape how clients think about themselves and project themselves into the future.
100% of clients:
- Have greater self-esteem and are able to speak up for themselves and advocate for their needs.
- Report being able to cultivate more authentic relationships, and challenge social stigma.
- Feel joy in their identity and express gender euphoria.
Transgender Non-Binary Process Group
A group for exploring gender expression or identity that doesn’t conform to the gender binary that promotes safe exploration of topics including relationships, sex, health, body image, self-worth, gender diversity, and gender neutrality.
Clients report feeling:
- Less alone in their treatment journey.
- More at peace with their gender identity as a result of programming that de-pathologizes their experience.
- Comfortable showing up in the world and willing to explore and embrace their self-expression.
Creative & Expressive Therapy
A skills-focused therapeutic program for young adults, utilizing creative and experiential activities to enhance emotional regulation, coping mechanisms, identity development, communication, teamwork, and executive function. Group facilitators incorporate principles from CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, attachment theory, somatic regulation, and expressive arts therapy to encourage collaboration, perspective-taking, planning, problem-solving, and self-expression. Clients come away with greater emotional awareness, follow-through, flexible thinking, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.
100% of clients:
- Report the group helped them reframe difficult situations into more positive, empowering narrative.
- Feel more capacity for expressing and managing feelings.
- Are able to take a more active role in shaping their personal story and identity.
