Jason Breeding

Jason Breeding is passionate about working with young adults as they chart their paths towards independence. Jason received his Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service, and he also holds a Bachelor’s in International Relations from American University. Jason started his journey with The Dorm as an Advanced Clinical Intern which cemented his appreciation for The Dorm’s supportive community and treatment model. Through his graduate training and professional background, Jason brings experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed practice.

Jason connects with his clients by establishing a felt sense of safety, warmth, and genuineness. By forming strong relationships built on mutual trust and respect, Jason works in tandem with his clients to identify and implement the changes they hope to see in their lives. Through a framework that prioritizes justice and empowerment, Jason uses empathy to help clients hold love and compassion for all parts of themselves and the hopes they bring to therapy.

Jason comes to the field of social work after years of crisis intervention with sexual assault survivors and striving to understand his own lived experiences as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Jason spends his free time finding new ways to entertain his cats (Gizmo and Mico), discovering new cuisines, reading, and exploring the city.
