Daniel Sheeran

Dan Sheeran is a Recovery Coach Professional (RCP), Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) and Certified Personal Trainer (NASM CPT) passionate about helping young people recover from mental health and substance use disorders. He is a former NCAA Division I full-scholarship football player (Syracuse University / University of Massachusetts) and received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He received the International Association of Recovery Coach Professional’s Spotlight of The Month Award in 2021 and Friends of Recovery NY’s Youth Recovery Gem Award in 2022. 

Dan works in many different ways in the recovery world, from non-profit work to working with clients at The Dorm. He is on the NYS OASAS Advisory Panel – Crisis Stabilization Centers, Young Adult Panelist, for young people recovering from mental health and substance use disorders. His work as a coach is rooted in meeting his clients where they are, asking questions, actively listening, and discovering what will best serve their unique treatment journey. Dan brings a positive, easy, fun, loving personality to The Dorm.

On a personal note, Dan is a huge sports fan.  He lives a highly active lifestyle to coexist with his type 1 diabetes. He enjoys participating in events that support physical wellness and fitness in recovery, including the High Watch Sprint For Sobriety 5k, Run4Recovery, RepsForResponders, and pursuing his passion for exploring Ultramarathons.  He also enjoys playing golf and relaxing with friends and family.
