Britt Melewski

Britt Melewski, LMSW brings a unique combination of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and empathy to his role as director at The Dorm. As a licensed social worker, he is passionate about helping young adults find the right fit in their treatment journey, looking beyond diagnoses to focus on each client’s unique story, history, and needs. In his clinical practice, he draws on extensive experience in several modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Comprehensive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gestalt, and mindfulness approaches. He holds a Master’s Degree from Rutgers University and the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Bentley University.

Britt is a seasoned advocate for mental healthcare access in New York City and beyond. He began his career at an inpatient behavioral health clinic and went on to spend a decade as the manager of programs within governmental agencies and nonprofits benefiting the chronically street homeless population of New York City.

In a prior role as Director of Mental Health Awareness at Integrity Health, Britt assisted in the expansion of the organization’s behavioral health department to new partnership health centers in South Brunswick, NJ, and Lycoming County, Pennsylvania – Integrity Health’s first footprint across New Jersey state lines.

On a personal note, Britt grew up in Puerto Rico and New Jersey. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and loves spending time with his family, his dog, listening to music, and writing.
