Alyssa Goldenberg holds a Master’s of Social Work from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in mass media from Hunter College. She is certified in both Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Prior to joining The Dorm, Alyssa was a functional family therapist at the Children’s Aid Society. She has also worked at Tech Kids Unlimited as the classroom therapist for neurodivergent children and young adults. She also works alongside Clinical Psychologist Dr. Jill Brickman composing neuropsychological evaluations.
Passionate about helping clients of all backgrounds, Alyssa has extensive interest, training, and dedication to help young people work through their eating disorder or disordered eating. Alyssa believes that the therapeutic connection between the client and the clinician is the most significant and special part of the process. She takes pride in her genuine compassionate nature. Her ability to bond with and support individuals empowers her clients to build their own confidence. Alyssa’s goal is to both comfort and encourage her clients to be the version of themselves that they wish to become.
Alyssa was born and raised in Manhattan and she still loves exploring the city and trying new restaurants! In her free time, she loves to travel, exercise, and spend time with friends and family. She also finds there is nothing better than sitting on the couch and watching endless TV shows with her cavapoo! As she reminds clients, it is all about balance.
