Is Recovery Housing Right for Me?

Depending on where you are on your treatment journey, you may benefit from a living environment that is more structured and supported before total independence. Recovery Housing provides 24/7 accountability, support and guidance that can help many young adults focus on their treatment goals and gain confidence while equipping them with the independent living skills they will need for a full and healthy future.

What are the benefits of recovery housing for young adults?

For many young adults in recovery, it’s extremely beneficial to spend time living in a space where they can safely practice key skills and to navigate possible triggers with expert support. Your time in supported living can be filled with tremendous learning and discovery; experiencing firsthand how full and enriching life in recovery can be and building relationships with a cohort of peers who are committed to their wellbeing right alongside you!

The most successful recovery homes are so much more than a roof over your head. “A true recovery community is one that helps you build your toolbox of independent living skills and also fosters friendship, connection and fun!” says Dr. Amanda Fialk, LCSW, LICSW, Partner and Chief of Clinical Services at The Dorm. “In order to really prepare you for a sustained life of wellbeing, a recovery community helps you gain new perspective, practice skills in real-time and offers you a network of support that will help you meet your treatment and life goals”.
