Keeping Our Community Safe
The Dorm COVID-19 Response: Safety Measures & Protocols:
As we initiate the first phase of reopening our physical locations at The Dorm, our focus is to maintain the highest standards of safety for our clients, our Dorm families and our team.
To start, we have exclusively opened our spaces for one-on-one individual therapy and coaching sessions while our groups, family sessions and clubhouse remain virtual.
As excited as we are to start welcoming back our community in-person, we will continue to proceed slowly and thoughtfully while following recommendations by the CDC, City and State regarding preventative and protective measures and social distancing best practices.
Here is how we have evolved our Dorm experience.
PHASE 1: REOPENING
What Our Community Can Expect As They Return
In-Person Individual Sessions
We are encouraging all of our clients to attend individual sessions face-to-face with their clinician/coach if possible.
To help us minimize exposure, we are asking all clients to arrive onsite no more than 5 minutes before a scheduled session.
Arrival screening and contactless check-in. Check-ins are contact-free and include temperature checks and a verbal symptom screening.
Regular staff and client coronavirus testing. To help us keep our community safe, we have arranged for onsite coronavirus testing for clients and staff at The Dorm.
Clinicians/coaches are escorting all clients from our front desk to their session at a safe 6 foot distance. For the time being, we are not permitting anyone to remain onsite after their sessions.
Groups, Family Sessions, The Clubhouse,
Apartment Checks & Check-Ins
Family Sessions & Our Community Clubhouse: Remaining virtual for the time being.
Apartment Checks have resumed in-person in addition to virtual check-ins at the end of each day and on weekends.
x2 Daily Virtual Check-ins are continuing for all clients who do not reside in one of our independent living apartments.
Facility & Site Safety
1. Deep Cleaning & Disinfection
We completed a deep cleaning of our site ahead of our Phase 1 Reopening and will continue with regular deep cleaning moving forward.
We are also conducting regular cleanings throughout the day of all common areas, bathrooms and high-touch surfaces.
Facility & Site Safety
1. While Clients Are With Us At The Dorm
Mask up! All staff and clients are required to wear masks while onsite as well as during apartment checks. Disposable and cloth masks have been made available at our front desk and cloth masks are being sent for daily laundry service. Any essential vendors who visit our sites are required to wear masks.
Practicing social distancing. Floor markers and tape indicate safe 6 foot distances throughout our space.
Hand sanitizer dispensers and disinfectant wipes have been made available at all entry and exit points throughout our space including near every office and room.
Follow the signs! Clients and team members will see plenty of signs reminding them to frequently wash their hands and to maintain a safe social distance in areas where they may ordinarily congregate.
For the time being, no food is being provided onsite for staff or clients.
As we listen and learn, we will continue to fine-tune and update our protocols so that we can uphold the standard of care and experience that our clients and families have come to expect at The Dorm: as a safe and supported space for all.
